Bass Clef There are three other clef signs that are somewhat commonly used. The bass clef is sometimes referred to as the "F clef". Notice that the two little dots are on either side of the 4th line. The name of the note on the 4th line of the bass clef staff is F. Later lessons will spend more time with note names on the bass clef staff.
